Boat with 85 refugees lands in Pomos  Update

first_imgA boat with 85 Syrian migrants landed in Paphos early Friday afternoon, after departing from Turkey earlier this week, police said in a statement.The boat landed at the Paradise beach in Pomos at around 1.45pm, with 64 men, nine women and 12 children.Authorities went on site to transfer the migrants to the nearest police station for identification.Four requested medical assistance and were transferred to the Polys Chrysochous hospital and were later released. No serious injuries have been reported.The migrants said they had departed from a Turkish port on Wednesday paying their smuggler $2,000 (€1,750) each.
