32GB Nexus 7 spotted again could arrive before Christmas

first_imgThe 8GB Nexus 7 is a steal at $199, but that’s not a lot of storage if you’re planning on loading up some HD videos or a healthy library of games on your Android tablet. The 16GB is a decent upgrade, but as is always the case with storage bumps on gadgets it comes at a steep premium considering you get nothing but a bit of additional NAND.But how about a push all the way to 32GB for the same price — or a few dollars less, possibly? It looks like Google and Asus are indeed getting ready to offer up a 32GB Nexus 7, and it may just sell right around the current 16GB price. The upgraded model has been spotted in a pair of new leaks. One comes from the UK, where retail giant Argos has included it in the annual Christmas Gift Guide at a price of £199.99 (VAT included, naturally).  The second comes from none other than office supply king Staples, whose web-based Staples Advantage system for business account holders shows a 32GB Nexus 7 in its inventory listings. And perhaps best of all, Staples has listed the 32GB variant at just $248.37 — around $3 less than the current price for its 16GB sibling. Now, it’s possible that the Staples Advantage listing is just a placeholder and that the price is an estimation. Then again, we know Google wants the Nexus 7 to continue selling at a steady pace, and we also know that Apple might have a competing iPad mini to show off next week. The time is right, then, for a spec bump. The downside is that early adopters who picked up the Nexus 7 16GB Best Price at Amazon model just a few months ago are going to feel slightly stung… but hey, at least it was only $250 and not $499, right?More at Android Police and The Vergelast_img
