“Furthermore, those assaults involved the infliction of terrible injuries and were often associated with humiliation.”Awfully, on one occasion, Jimmy Prout’s scrotum was sliced open and his testicle was removed; he was then forced to eat it.”On another occasion, his teeth were removed with a hammer and chisel.”In effect, over a period of time, Jimmy Prout was not just mistreated, he was tortured.”The prosecution case is that the four defendants took part in that violence against Jimmy Prout, either inflicting injuries directly or assisting or encouraging the other members of the group to do so.”In the end, this conduct was to cause the death of Jimmy Prout.”Several witnesses describe a deterioration in the condition of Jimmy Prout in the period between late 2015 and February 2016.”This is hardly surprising given what was being done to him.” He explained that tensions mounted when wheelchair-bound car crash victim Zaman became obsessed with his belief that Miss Corbett’s brother Ivan had stolen belongings from him and he felt his friend Mr Prout had not done enough to help him recover the missing items, which included an iPad.Mr Greaney said: “Probably because of these events and, no doubt, because he was perceived as being vulnerable, the other members of the group started to abuse Jimmy. “During this period of six or so weeks, Jimmy Prout’s body was decomposing and was, to some extent, eaten by animals.
