first_img Goalkeeper: Sergio Romero – click the arrow to see the rest of the predicted Manchester United line up – Real Madrid still want to sign David de Gea, and Sergio Romero proved towards the end of last season he is more than good enough to replace the Spain international as United’s number one. Should De Gea leave a new goalkeeper is likely to be brought in, but only as a back-up for Romero. 11 11 11 Centre back: Victor Lindelof – Signed from Benfica, Lindelof is, so far, United’s only incoming transfer of the 2017 summer window. The assured Swede is regarded as one of the best centre-backs in Europe after two glorious seasons in Portugal, and he has experience of both international football and the Champions League. He is sure to be a superb player for the Red Devils. 11 Centre back: Eric Bailly – Bailly was brought to Old Trafford last summer and enjoyed a wonderful debut season in Manchester. He is set for a long, long stay at the heart of United’s defence, and is close to a world class level despite his relative youth. 11 Right back: Antonio Valencia – Valencia was United’s most consistent performer last season, with his transformation to top class full-back a joy to behold. He recently signed a new contract at Old Trafford, and there is no need for him to be replaced this summer. Centre midfield: Paul Pogba – The biggest issue Pogba faced this season was the requirement to fulfil defensive duties, with no top class holding midfielder behind him. With Fabinho introduced, Pogba will be given free rein to show off all his attacking talents and finally live up to his reputation and price tag. It should be a superb season from Pogba. Centre midfield: Ander Herrera – One of the vital parts of United’s team, Herrera provides a skillset few players in world football can match. He is sure to remain a guaranteed starter next season, and is likely to reach even greater heights alongside Fabinho. 11 11 Manchester United have made one signing so far this summer, with Victor Lindelof brought to Old Trafford from Benfica. But only a fool would think that is Jose Mourinho’s transfer business done for the year. The Red Devils have been linked with a number of players in recent days, with the biggest rumours suggesting moves for both Tottenham star Harry Kane and Jordi Alba of Barcelona. So, how could United line up next season if these rumoured signings are made? talkSPORT have taken a look at the latest transfer rumours, and have built a predicted Manchester United XI including potential arrivals in the summer transfer window. You can see the entire team, in a 4-3-3 formation, by clicking the right arrow, above… 11 Holding midfield: Fabinho – A long-term target of Mourinho, it appears United’s move for Monaco star Fabinho is finally close to becoming reality. Able to play at both right-back and in holding midfield, it is expected the Brazil international will fit into the latter position at Old Trafford. Reports indicate United have submitted a £43.7m bid for the 23-year-old. Left back: Jordi Alba – Jordi Alba is the only left-back in Barcelona’s first team 11 Right forward: Henrikh Mkhitaryan – Mkhitaryan’s debut season with United was somewhat up and down, enjoying periods of great form but also suffering with some questionable performances. But with a full campaign behind him, the Armenian winger should excel next term. 11 Left forward: Ivan Perisic – A £40m move for Croatia winger Perisic looks set to be wrapped up in the coming days, with reports suggesting he has already agreed a £100,000-a-week deal to move to Old Trafford. A typical Mourinho signing, the 28-year-old will add pace, skill and work rate on the left flank. Centre forward: Harry Kane – Jose Mourinho has urged United to go all out and sign Kane regardless of the cost. Spurs have no desire to sell their star forward, but the Red Devils want to tempt them with a huge £100m offer. The two-time Golden Boot winner would improve any Premier League team, and would immediately make the Red Devils title favourites. 11last_img
