Handball Seminars Set for November

first_imgThe Liberia National Handball Association (LNHA) has announced tentative dates for the series of three seminars scheduled for next month, November.LNHA president Mason Saweler told the Daily Observer that the series of seminars would be held in Tubmanburg, Bomi County from November 3-5; in Harbel, Margibi County from November 7-9 and in Monrovia from November 11-13.“These dates are tentative because we are waiting for materials for seminars to come by ship and so we have agreed with the International Handball Federation (IHF) that we should do all we can to ensure that the materials are here,” Saweler said.He said each of the seminars will have over 60 participants who are mainly physical education teachers from the various schools in the counties where a seminar is planned for.He said high schools, elementary schools and universities in Monrovia and schools in both Harbel and Tubmanburg have involved and their physical education instructors are gearing up for the first of its kind training that would help them to better understand the fundamentals of handball.“Handball is part of the sports curriculum and all schools and therefore we are making sure that the sport is taught properly before our national league that involves schools begin,” Saweler said.He noted that the IHF will be sending an expert and the LNHA will also be selecting a local expert to work along with him.“We already have our expert who is preparing for this wonderful training,” he told the Daily Observer yesterday.Share this:Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)last_img
